Herb planting girl's get together

Parties, UncategorizedLorely Meza1 Comment

Spring has come and gone but and I have been craving fresh herbs in my cooking!  Spring is my favorite time of the year to try my hand at my black thumb and attempt some form of fresh produce.  I decided a while back  to get together some of my closest girlfriends to share the love of fresh herbs.  I wanted to add fun and sweet little touches to make the afternoon even more personal.  I  started with my hunt for the perfect mini clay jar label that would be water resistant and adorable. Enter Kidecals!!  Their labels are not only super cute and  versatile but totally water-resistant!  My kind of deal! herb collage 1       Kaceeparty0008-2 I froze fresh blueberries and added them to lemonade for a fun pop of color and added chill.Kaceeparty0098-2

How sweet is the "PARTY" tray? It's just the perfect portion size for little nibbles. Kaceeparty0131-2

Each of my girlfriends were given mini water cans as a thank you for joining me in the fun of the afternoon.  The cans were adorned with my favorite and super simple recipe Caprese salad using their newly planted fresh basil.  I adore the simple ease of these precious "From the Pantry of" labels to give them an extra personal touch.Kaceeparty0381-2

I grabbed mini planting pots that are just the right size for a window sill and slipped on these great chalkboard labels so we could label our herbs in the most adorable way! Kaceeparty0240-2Kaceeparty0235-2 herb 3Kaceeparty0382-2Kaceeparty0322-2

How to organize my ever insane workspace in the most lovely way!  I'm making progress!  Needing #4 in my life asap!

For all you parents out there, this is so funny!  Still laughing!

Summer grilling is on the brain!  I am obsessed with grilling everything right now and these veggie burritos look incredible!

I'm super excited about summer nights and concerts! I am doing a girl's night to see Rascal Flatts but also have the Move Tour and One Republic on my agenda as well.

We went to my daughter's ballet show this past weekend. I literally live for these events.  Dance shows and school parties make my world go round.  Seeing the gorgeous performances, made me miss my dance days.  How amazing is this piece from a recent So You Think You Can Dance?! I'm pretty sure I stop breathing every time I watch it.

I'm off to a magical 4 days of Mexican getaway amazingness!  Can't wait to hear what sort of summer agendas you have in mind.

Suits and coverups

Fashion, Travel, UncategorizedLorely MezaComment

With our sexy Mexico getaway on the horizon this weekend, I'm on the hunt for fabulous suits and the cutest coverups.  In the past, I've needed to be pretty practical with my suit options.  With the little ones being little, they pull and yank all over me when we are swimming.  This trip is different being just my hubby and I!  I get to reclaim what once was, the sexy swimsuit!  Oh it's on!

Stop time:Baby girl turns 3

So our baby girl turned 3 last week! Yep, not sure I like any part of it! People used to tell me all the time how time flies and to cherish the moments.  Man, they were so right. Its such a hard lesson to embrace when we were raising Capri our eldest.  Each day was closer to the next step and next phase which was so exciting.  We rushed her not knowing it.  I wish now, that I would have sat still and just enjoyed without trying to peek around the corner at what was next.  With Peyton we are trying to do just that.  I am trying to enjoy the present and just take in all that she is in the now.  She is so different than her older sis and we are so obsessed with them both.  Capri is fearless with a super soft underbelly that she rarely shows.   She likes routine and cherishes the calm we find.  I can read her really easily. Peyton is a different sort. She is harder for me to grasp. She gives everything away and then gives nothing.  I can't predict her and envision what she will be like.  I just know she will be incredible.   She wears her love on her shoulder where Capri tucks hers away.  Peyton freely gives hugs and kisses followed by love words and compliments.  At any moment she will look over from her coloring and say she loves me or tell me that I look beautiful.  She is heartwarming and special in every way.  We decorated her room in the middle of the night on the eve of her birthday just like we have done for Capri over the years.  We were so excited at what we thought was going to be the outcome of birthday excitement.  I woke up early and waited to hear her rustling.  Soon we couldn't take it any longer we had to get into her room to see how excited she was.  She rustled up and took a look at the streamers and balloons and seemed bothered.  Like she didn't want the attention or the fuss. She asked for me to take the balloons out.  Something wasn't right to her.  It was the funniest reaction to us.  We are so used to Capri getting all giddy about the pomp and circumstance where Peyton just didn't like it all.  She is simple and doesn't need anything beyond us to feel loved and happy.  She doesn't need to big gesture.  She is something special and we cherish her simple and calm spirit every day.  I have no doubt she is going to be dynamic.  I see it now already in her little ways.  I can't baby girl to be still with you through the years and see you change and evolve into the woman you are meant to be.  I promise not to rush you. peyton3-4189peyton3-4127

What are you reading these days?  I'm picking up #GirlBoss and a good smut read called Beautiful Bastard on recommendation from a friend.

Our weather has been so beautiful and I've been so ready for outdoor dining and firing up the BBQ.  I'm such a filet mignon lover but loved this easy and simple breakdown of all the different cuts of meat to help demystify my next butcher run.

This sunny tray by Rebecca Allen for Deny Designs caught my eye right away and I knew I loved it immediately! Not only did it bring a ray of sunshine to my home but I found it beyond versatile!  Deny Designs gorgeous products are so fun and I love that they support local artists or create your own custom designs .   How cool is that?!  Custom piece for your home! I'm in! I having been using this tray like mad and I wanted to share how amazingly versatile it has become in my own home. 1. Entryway spruce

I added my Deny tray to my entry way table for pop of color. I also think this would be cool hung on a wall for splash or fun.

I'm very on the fence with the ear cuff trend… I think they can be fun and edgy but not sure if I'm cool enough to rock it. How gorgeous is this DIY ear cuff. After seeing this I just may be on board.

I am always on the hunt for an artist that is a bit nautical, a little retro and keeps my interest.  In the last couple years I kept coming across Gray Malin's work but never connected the dots that all of these incredible pieces were his.  I love all his work but always gravitate to his beach scenes. My new obsession is to have one of his pieces in my home so I can fester on it daily!  Something about his work makes me so happy as art should.

We have been patiently waiting to visit our favorite you pick blueberry farm and it opens this month!  Can't wait to try my hand at this amazing Blueberry Mojito recipe.

I'm dreaming of dutch doors and summer breezes.

What are all you pretties festering on this week?

I saw the new movie "The Other Woman" with Cameron Diaz last night with some girlfriends.  I can't say the movie was my all time favorite but the fashion was major!  I couldn't get over how amazing Cameron's wardrobe was.  So sleek and polished!  I of course came home and poured over stills from the movie for a better look! Here are a couple of my favorite looks! the other woman [show_shopthepost_widget id="25652"]
