Back to school: Teacher's gifts

It's back to school for Capri next week and my little Peyton's first year of preschool!  Capri's teacher this year is a big gardener and so we thought we would put together a little window sill plant gift for her as a back to school present.  

We used:

Medium clay pot

sheet of burlap

3 packs of seeds that were appropriate for pots

twine

Capri helped me assemble each burlap sheet into the pot and nestle the seeds in the middle.

Capri has mastered her name last year in pre K and she was eager to write her new teacher a sweet note to attach to her gift.

We are so excited for Kinder this year!  Can't wait to see what the year brings!

pin of the week 8-22  

I could live in this house for the rest of my life and be so happy.

We were welcomed to the Imanta in Punta Mita earlier this summer with Elderflower juice and it was delish!  This cocktail looked so refreshing and I can't wait to try it and see if it takes me back to our getaway!

A good belly laugh solves any issue.

Oh, the bubble baths and book reading that could happen in this gorgeous bathroom!

If fall looks this fabulous if can come anytime!  This leopard cape might just be everything!

My lovely friend and fellow blogger Kim of Lace and Locks opened up a boutique called Morning Lavender.  She had a great pop up shop a couple weeks back and I grabbed a couple adorable things from here cute shop.  This floral romper is one of her sweet pieces and I adore it.  It's girly and sexy at the same time.  Win Win!

My girls head back to school in a couple weeks and there are few things I love more than shopping for their back to school wardrobe!  They are my mini Barbies.  Capri is heading to Kindergarten this year and Peyton to Pre-school. They are so excited!   I love to shop for looks that can easily be mixed and matched.  I also like to keep in mind season changes and functionality.  Our So Cal weather stays hot for quite a while so layers are great for us. We have been vacationing like mad women since my hunny has been in the Sheriff's academy and last week we visited the sweetest tea house. It was the girl's first tea experience and Capri was in heaven. They of course had to wear their  princess Elsa ( from Disney's Frozen) sparkly costumes while I donned my new tea length striped dress.  It was the perfect sweet touch for the day out. This week's pins are full of randomness but all things gorgeous! I couldn't resist the preciousness of the sweet blue Jolly car.  It's littleness reminds me of a mini ketchup bottle, just small and adorable.

I've always been drawn to the simplicity of black and whites in my wardrobe and find this impossibly chic ensemble just to good.  Simple tank and palazzo pants are just perfection.

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward have the sexiest most beautiful love story!  Paul Newman is one of my all time swoon worthy crushes and what makes him even more delectable is how he loved his wife.  He was quoted saying " I have steak at home, why would I go out for hamburger?"  I know!!! SWOON!

I'm not really familiar with rhubarb but found this strawberry rhubarb cocktail really enticing.  Doesn't it look refreshing and lovely for summer?

My all time favorite ice-cream flavor is mint and when I stumbled upon this gorgeous natural peppermint ice-cream I was sold. Time to try my hand and making some so I can indulge any time I want.

I mean, is there really anything better than glitter and pink?! I think not!  I saw this hot little pink moto jacket and it had to be mine and the glitter tank was just to good to pass up.  I paired the two with some casual denim shorts and mint strappy heels to offset the bold colors.
